On a sphere, the metal must be worked from every angle simultaneously — the texture on the upper hemisphere, the equator, and the lower hemisphere all need to read as continuous, as though the ball grew this way rather than being assembled. The marks you see on the surface are not random. They follow the curve of the form, each strike placed to reinforce the shape rather than distort it. The result is a texture that appears almost organic — like the surface of a river stone, or the skin of a fruit — rather than mechanical.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe ball pendant throws light in all directions. Unlike a dome, which focuses downward, a sphere illuminates the space around it as much as the space below it — the walls glow, the ceiling above the lamp is lit, the room feels larger.
