What is unlacquered brass and how does it differ from lacquered?
Unlacquered brass is solid brass without a protective clear coat. Unlike lacquered brass, which maintains a uniform shine, unlacquered brass develops a natural patina over time — a living finish that deepens and evolves with use. This is the hallmark of authentic, high-quality brass hardware and is considered a feature, not a flaw.
How do I care for and clean my brass fixtures?
For everyday cleaning, simply wipe with a soft, dry cloth. To preserve the natural patina, avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. If you prefer a brighter finish, a gentle polish with a mixture of lemon juice and baking soda will restore the original lustre.
